Privacy & cookies
Venice Gala lists events and links you to the organisers, ticket offices and agencies that sell them. We collect as little as a website can, and nothing is sold or shared for advertising.
Who runs this site
Venice Gala is published by Osvaldo Di Pietrantonio, Venice, Italy (VAT IT14286051009), who is the data controller. For anything about your data write to info@venicegala.com.
What we collect
Server logs. Our hosting provider, Hostinger, records the usual server logs (IP address, time, page requested, browser) to keep the site running and secure. See Hostinger's privacy policy.
Clicks to ticket pages. Every "Tickets" link passes through a counter on our server. It writes the time, the event, the page you came from, whether the request looks like a robot, and a 12-character code computed from your browser, your IP address and the day with a secret key stored on the server in a folder closed to the web. The code changes every day and cannot be turned back into your IP address without that key; the address itself is never stored. If the key cannot be read, no code is written at all. We use this to see which events people open. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running the listing. Kept for up to 24 months.
Analytics (Google Analytics 4). With your consent where the law requires it (see below), Google Analytics tells us how many people visit, from which country and source, and which pages and events they open. Where consent is required, Google's script still loads before you choose and sends cookieless pings which Google says it uses for aggregated modelling; no cookie is set and no click of yours is sent until you accept. We set Google to keep event-level data for 14 months. Google Ireland Limited processes this data for us; part of it is handled in the United States under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. How Google uses this data: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Cookies and your choice
The only cookies on this site belong to Google Analytics (_ga and _ga_…, up to two years), set only when analytics is allowed. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland analytics stays off until you click Accept; Reject keeps it off and removes any Google Analytics cookie already set. We remember your answer for a year in your browser's local storage. Elsewhere analytics runs by default. Change your choice at any time from Cookie settings, also in the footer.
Email. If you write to us, we keep the exchange for as long as the conversation needs it.
Third parties
Fonts are served from our own server. The event links lead to the websites of organisers, ticket offices, agencies and ticket platforms, each with its own privacy policy.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to its use, and take it with you (GDPR articles 15 to 21). You can also complain to the Italian supervisory authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.
